Curtis Wegner Arrested In Net Sex Sting

Suspect arrived at predetermined location:

A 25-year-old school bus aid from South Dakota has been arrested by Sioux Falls police after they say he solicited sex online from someone whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Curtis Wegner, of Sioux Falls, was apprehended by authorities after a month long investigation into his online activities.

Of course like so many of these types of cases that I have covered here over the years, there was no actual 14-year-old girl but instead an undercover officer working for the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested at a local park where he and the "girl" intended to meet for sex.

Besides Mr. Wegner's above MySpace profile he also maintained several other non existent ones found here, here and here.

Jesse Lee Wise Pitched A Tent For 13-Year-Old

Met girl on MySpace, say police:

A Nevada man has been arrested by police in the state of Virginia after they say he took a 2,500 mile journey to meet a 13-year-old girl he had met MySpace.

Jesse Lee Wise, 25, of Elks, pitched a tent in a wooded area next to a Chesapeake library, not far the intended victim's home and proceeded to send her sexually explicit messages via a computer at the library.

Wise had actually been conversing with the girl long before his arrival in Chesapeake, a federal agent told The Virginian-Pilot that the two had been conversing with each for well over a year.

When the conversations suddenly turned sexual in May, the unidentified female told her mother about the relationship who in turn contacted police.

Police then took over the girl's MySpace account and procceded to correspond with Wise.

During a search of his tent, inestigators say they found new and used condoms, a ring and two Greyhound bus tickets (one for him and one for her) to Airzona, where Wise had also once lived.

MySpace Contact Leads To Sex Assault Charges

Could face up to 20 years:

A 26-year-old Connecticut man who police say had previously worked for the state child welfare agency has been charged with the sexual assault of a child after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy.

Jacob Bonilla, 26, was charged last week with nine counts of second-degree sexual assault and nine counts of risk of injury to a minor after an incident that purportedly occurred sometime last year. Police say the two had met on MySpace.

If convicted on all charges, Bonilla could face up to 20 years in prison.

Joshua Stanfill Arrested In NY Child Porn Sting

Eleven Total Arrested In Probe:

A 23-year-old New York man has been arrested following a rather lengthy investigation into online child pornography.

Joshua Stanfill, of Schenectady, has been charged with the distribution and receipt of child pornography following his arrest last week after investigators had executed a search warrant at his residence.

If convicted on all charges, Stanfill could face a mandatory minimum of 5 to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This sting was actually part of a much larger investigation and subsequently 10 others were also arrested on similar charges.

Joseph White & Nicole Buzzetta Arrested Following Molestation Investigation

Child pornography found at residence leads to arrest of both:

California--A Sacramento couple have been arrested following the alleged sexual abuse of a little 8-year-old girl.

Joseph Edward White, 38 and Nicole Elizabeth Buzzetta, 28, were both taken into custody after an initial investigation which had focused on the molestation of the child in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Sacramento.

When officers spoke with the victim she told them she had been molested by an unknown man.

Investigators later gathered enough information leading them to Joseph Edward White, a serial predator with outstanding warrants for failing to register as a sex offender.

Detectives later searched the apartment of the couple where they reportedly discovered numerous images of child pornography

White is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail in lieu of $1.25 million bail on charges of a lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14, and of possessing obscene matter depicting a person under 14.

Buzzetta, who was also charged with child pornography after she was found to be in possession, is being held in lieu of $250,000.

Sex Sting Snares Jeffrey Wommack

Suspect found with condom, brass knuckles:

Missouri--A Springfield man has been taken into custody after allegedly soliciting sex online from someone whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Using the screen name, "csncreeper", Jeffrey Dale Wommack, 25, is accused of contacting the "girl" and encouraging her to masturbate.

He then reportedly arranged to meet her at a car wash, where he planned on engaging in sexual activity with her.

Wommack however was duped from the start, for there was no actual girl but instead an undercover officer posing as one.

He was arrested after arriving at the car wash.

Boy Scout Leader Tom Helm Arrested After MySpace Use

A 60-year-old Colorado man has been arrested after police say he solicited sex from someone whom he believed to be a 14-year-old through MySpace.

Tom Helm, of Durango, is accused of posing as a 49-year-old bisexual male on MySpace and subsequently contacting an undercover officer who had been posing as a 14-year-old male.

After the two had been conversing online for awhile, Mr. Helm arranged to meet the "boy" at a local cemetery. Helm reportedly brought with him condoms, chocolate syrup and beer.

He was of course arrested and taken to jail where bond was set at $250,000.

According to The Durango Herald, Helm and his wife had been listed as contacts for a church-sponsored youth camping trip on the Durango's Christ the King Lutheran Church Web site:

"Kid Camp Out: Kids from the church and Day Camp and the community are invited to spend a night camping out at the church July 24th. Families are also welcome. Meet at the church at 6 pm Friday and camp out with us. All food and drink and activities are included. Call Tom and **** Helm at 247-**** for more details."

Fortunately, the then upcoming trip was later canceled "because of lack of interest".

Perhaps the kids knew something the parent's didn't?

Helm had also reportedly been a leader for the Boy Scouts prior to his arrival in Durango.

Jeffrey Smiley Arrested On Child Molestation Charges

Feds believe there may be more victims:

Washington--A Spanaway man has been charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation after allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl.

Jeffrey R. Smiley, 36, is accused of assaulting the girl, who is believed to be a family member, on at least one occasion as well as making child pornography with her.

Smiley was arrested after he tried to feel from police who say they found a "camp" in a wooded area that contained beds, toys, cameras and several pieces of children's' underwear.

Several child-size dolls dressed in clothing were also found, according to records. A computer was also located on the premises containing child pornography.

Smiley's mother told police that she also suspected him of molesting his own two adoptive sisters who were just 5 and 9 years old at the time.

Police Arrest Suspects In Child Predator Sting

Police in the state of Pennsylvania say they have arrested five men who had sexually propositioned what they believed were to be young girls ages 13 & 14.

They however had not been conversing with underage girls but instead an undercover officer posing as them online.

Because of this they were subsequently arrested.

Teacher Charged With Raping Girl He Met On MySpace

Incident took place at elementary school parking lot:

New York--A 28-year-old math teacher has been arrested after police say he engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl that he purportedly met on MySpace.

Daniel Rothbard, of Merrick, was taken into custody after an officer spotted his car in the parking lot of a local elementary school there.

Upon further inspection, the officer discovered both Rothbard and the 15-year-old victim inside the vehicle.

Rothbard has been charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sexual act, third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

MySpace Contact Leads To Child Porn Charges

A 32-year-old Florida man has been taken into custody after detectives say he attempted to solicit a young girl using MySpace.

Matthew Adams, of Golden Gate, is alleged to have tried to entice the underage 13-year-old minor into taking sexually explicit pictures of herself.

Police say it was a tip from NCMEC which subsequently led to the initial investigation and to his arrest this past Tuesday.

Images containing child pornography have also reportedly been recovered from Adam's work computer.

Police Arrest Chase Rhodes In Alleged MySpace Rape

Bail set at $100,000:

A North Carolina man is currently residing in jail after allegedly raping a 19-year-old woman he met through MySpace.

Chase Rhodes, 19, of Thomasville, has been charged with one count of 2nd degree forcible rape, one count of 2nd degree forcible sex offense and one count attempted 2nd degree sex offense.

Police say Rhodes and the victim had been messaging each other back and forth for around two week before the alleged rape took place.

Bail was set at $100,000.

Men Charged After Sex With Girls They Met On MySpace

Suspects smoke crack cocaine with "victims":

Two Nevada men have been arrested after allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl and her 15-year-old cousin that they had met on MySpace.

Police say Robert Lesmes, 19, and Mario Alberto Morgan-Vega, 30, both of Carson City, engaged in sexual activity with the two after smoking crack cocaine and drinking with the girls.

Morgan-Vega, an illegal, was taken into custody after he arrived at the jail to bail out Lesmes. He also quickly bonded himself out of jail as well.

According to reports, police recovered methamphetamine in his vehicle and a stolen gun at his home.

Robert Mitchell Ervin Arrested In Murder Of Pregnant Woman

"She was a fixture of the neighborhood," says neighbor:

A 15-year-old Maryland teen has been arrested and charged with the rape and murder of a 26-year-old pregnant woman.

Police say, Robert Mitchell Ervin, of Elkton, has confessed over the weekend to the brutal murder of Jennifer Thompson after she allegedly asked him to leave her apartment.

The teen is accused of slashing Thompson's throat several times, leaving her to die in a pool of blood as the running water from her bathroom ultimately alerted the floor below.

Ervin has been since charged with first-degree murder, rape and assault.

Celeste Meyer Arrested On Molestation Charges

Suspect was a former babysitter:

Florida--A 22-year-old Winter Park woman has been arrested on charges that she molested a 7-year-old child while babysitting her.

Celeste Roberta Meyer, who had been working at a church daycare and also babysat for area families, is accused of molesting the girl sometime back in 2001.

Meyer had also been accused of a similar incident in 2003, but the State's Attorney's Office evidently did not pursue the case.

Police are asking anyone who has more information on Meyer to contact them at 407-644-1313.

Suspects Arrested In Child Porn Raids

A series of raids conducted by New Jersey state police has resulted in the arrest of more than a dozen people suspected of downloading and sharing child pornography online.

The sting, which had been dubbed "Operation Sentinel", concluded on Friday after a year long investigation.

Trio Accused Of Luring Girls Through MySpace

Mother of victim tipped off police:

Three male friends from Florida have all been arrested after they allegedly set up a sexual encounter through MySpace with girls between the ages of 14 & 15 during the July 4th weekend.

Calvin (Lee) Lamb, 21, of Glen St. Mary, Sterling West, 21, and Allen (Bryant) Ingram, 22, both of Macclenny, were apprehended by officers after they received a call from one of the victim's mother.

West is accused of having sex with one the girls, while Lamb allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the both of them.

Both Lamb and West have been charged with lewd and lascivious battery and engaging in sexual activity with a person between 12-16. Meanwhile, Ingram was booked for kidnapping a minor and interfering with custody, using obscene communication to seduce a child, third-degree felonies, plus traveling to meet a minor to engage in unlawful sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

All 3 have since deleted their MySpace profiles and the only cache available is that of Sterling West found here.

Deadra Ann Williams Charged With Sex Assault Of Boy, 2

Relative contacted police:

A 41-year-old West Virigina woman is currently residing at the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond after being accused of sexually assaulting a 2-year-old child.

Deadra Ann Williams, of Beckley, is alleged to have assaulted the toddler sometime back in mid-May.

The victim, who is said to have been a relative, reported the incident to another family member who in turn contacted authorities.

Interestingly, Williams was charged with sexual assault back in 2001, but apparently all charges were later dismissed pending further investigation, states CBS affiliate, WVNS-TV.

MySpace Meeting Ends In Arrest

He was 18, she was 12:

An 18-year-old Florida man is in police custody after he was found naked in bed with a 12-year-old girl that he had met using MySpace.

According to police, Barrington Benjimen Smith II, of Port St. Lucie, snuck into the girl's bedroom (they had agreed to meet) on June 25th and started kissing her.

Smith then allegedly removed the 12-year-old's clothes and got naked himself.

A relative of the girl noticed her bedroom door have been locked and forced it open where she found the both of them.

Smith quickly jumped out the window and took off but was later arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation and attempted lewd and lascivious battery.

Stephanie Der Charged In Statutory Rape Of Babysitter

Georgia--A 38-year-old mother of two has been charged with having sex with her 15-year-old babysitter.

Stephanie Arlyne Der, of Newnan, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the 15-year-old boy on at least more than one occasion, although police wouldn't specify exactly how many times or how long the alleged abuse had been going on.

Der has since been charged with felony statutory rape.

FBI Raids Home Of Justin Gladding

Investigation started in March:

A 34-year-old California man had his home raided by FBI agents on Tuesday after they say he possessed images of children as young as three engaged in sexual acts.

Justin Paul Gladding, of Fresno, was reportedly taken down after an agent accessed a file sharing program on the Internet and started to browse through Gladding's shared files.

A screen name operated by Gladding led investigators to his Northwest Fresno residence where they later reportedly tracked him for 5 weeks.

Jeremy Krosnick Arrested For Child Porn

Suspect traded images of pre-pubescent children:

A Bergenfield, New Jersey man has been charged with child pornography after being arrested on Friday morning.

Jeremy Krosnick, 33, is alleged to have been using the Internet to both acquire and distribute illegal videos and images of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual activity.

The single Krosnic, a computer technician, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor by distributing child pornography, and endangering the welfare of a minor by possession of child pornography.

MySpace Meeting Leads To Sexual Abuse Charges

Relative of victim contacted police:

An Illinois man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor after police say he had sex with a 15-year-old girl that he met on MySpace.

Steven Swiderski, of Oak Forest, is said to have initiated a series of e-mails with the girl after first meeting her on the site in April. Later, they arranged to meet at a park where the two had sex.

The case against Swiderski actually began after a relative of the girl noticed "inappropriate messages" on her MySpace and contacted her mother.

The mom later called police who then started their own investigation.

Swiderski was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and bond was set at $50,000.

MySpace Dad Killer Hughstan Schlicker Gets 20

A 16-year-old Arizona teen has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering his father after he had cut off his access to his MySpace.

Hughstan Schlicker, of Mesa, was arrested in February of 2008 after he approached his father, Ted, in the kitchen at their home with a 12 gauge shotgun and shot him to death.

After killing him, Schlicker called a friend and told her what had happened who subsequently convinced him to turn himself in.

Apparently I forgot to transfer the original story from the forum to the blog.

Anthony McElvain Allegedly Used MySpace To Lure Girls

Two victims identified, could be more:

An Evansville, Indiana mas was arrested last month on sexual misconduct charges after he allegedly used MySpace and Facebook to lure underage girls to his home and engage in sexual activity with them.

Anthony McElvain, 32, was apprehended by officers after a 14-year-old girl was found hiding at his home. He had met her on MySpace, say police.

In another incident that turned out much better, McElvain contacted a different 14-year-old girl on myYearbook and proceeded to invite her over to his place to drink and have sex. She smartly refused.

McEvlain is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County jail on a $100,000 bond.

Police: Bryan Jacobs Posed As Porn Star On MySpace To Solicit Boys

Bail set at $100,000:

A 38-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested by police after they say he posed as a young female porn star on MySpace and encouraged underage boys to share sexually explicit pictures of themselves.

Bryan A. Jacobs, of Deptford, who also is believed to have taken images of children at his local job, has been charged with distributing images of children engaged in sexual acts and possession of child pornography.

The fake porn star that Jacobs is alleged to have created hasn't been identified by any of the articles on the web, but I'm guessing this is probably it.

A quick search shows an e-mail addresses owned by a "Bryan Jacobs" in Deptford also owns the above MySpace account. That same address links him as well to various gay forums and this Youtube account which features numerous videos of boys.

Jacobs is really all over the place online, with ages ranging from 19 to his correct age of 38. He also likes to moderate teen forums for some silly unknown reason.

MySpace Contact Leads To Rape Charges

Suspect previously convicted in sex with minor charge:

A California man has been arrested after police say he used to MySpace to engage in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl he had met on the site.

William Suh, 24, allegedly came to Utah (where the girl lived) and stayed at her sisters apartment in Cottonwood Heights for approximately three weeks in the month of June.

It was there where Sue is believed to have had sexual contact with the girl on at least several different occasions.

After learning of the incidents, the girl's father contacted police who subsequently arrested Suh.

Police: Christopher Allgood Murdered Girlfriend, Daughter & Unidentified Man

Suspect found holding rifle:

A Texas man is in police custody after they say he shot and killed his girlfriend, their 2-year-old daughter and another man at an apartment in San Antonio.

Christopher Allgood, 30, of San Antonio, is alleged to have killed his girlfriend, Courtney Gass, 26, the couple's daughter, Anika, and another unidentified adult male.

All three were killed around 3 a.m on Sunday morning, say police.

Allgood, who was found in a parking lot holding an AK-47 assault rifle, is currently residing at the Bexar County Jail in lieu of $205,000 bond.

If charged and convicted with all 3 murders, he could face the death penalty.

Besides his above now deleted MySpace profile, Allgood also operated several other accounts for his struggling need to be identified as an artist.

One is band called, "Committee of Majority" and the other is as a solo artist, "X. Allgood".

Jubonte Stevenson Arrested After 4-Year-Old Gets STD

Suspect jailed on million dollar bond:

North Carolina--A 21-year-old Winterville man was taken into custody by police yesterday after they say he raped a 4-year-old child.

Police say the suspect, Jubonte Marquel Stevenson, first came to their attention on May 18th after being contacted by the Pitt County Department of Social Services regarding the possible assault of the child.

Later, it was learned that the child had contracted a sexually transmitted disease allegedly by Mr. Stevenson.

Bond was set at a million dollars.

Besides his above MySpace profile, Stevenson also frequented several other social networking websites.

Children's Director/Substitute Teacher Jacob Alan Morris Arrested For Molestation

Alleged incidents stretched 2 years:

Georgia--A 25-year-old children’s director at the Concord Baptist Church in Clermont has been arrested after allegedly molesting an 8-year-old.

Jacob Alan Morris, of Gainesville, is alleged to have molested the young girl at both the church and her residence between early 2007 and 2008.

Interestingly, Jacob or "Jake" as he likes to be called, is the son of one of the pastors at the church, which houses an impressive membership of over 1,000 people.

Morris is also a substitute teacher who was recently employed and then let go by the Hall County school system following the allegations.

The 25-year-old has been charged with two counts of child molestation, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, and aggravated sexual battery.

Florida Investigators Smash Kiddie Porn Ring

Images as young as 2, say police:

In the state of Florida police have arrested nine suspects on accusations that they accessed the Internet in order to download and share child pornography with each other.

Investigators working close to the case say it's among the worst they've ever seen with images of children as young as two being raped.

Among those arrested in the kiddie porn ring with MySpace profiles were:

Youth Minister Randall Hollifield Arrested For Rape Of Child

A youth volunteer at a church in Tennessee has been arrested for raping a child younger than 13.

Police say, 45-year-old Randall Thomas Hollifield, of Powell, is accused of performing oral sex on the boy and then forcing him to perform oral sex on him as well.

A search of Hollifield's residence has allegedly uncovered more than 3,000 images on a computer including at least 100 images involving an underage male engaged in sexual activities, states a report by The Knoxville News Sentinel.

Hollifield, who volunteered at the New Beverly Baptish Church in Knoxville, has been charged with two counts of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Pastor Steve Richardson Gets 17

Must also register as a sex offender:

A former Texas pastor has been sentenced to serve at least 17 years in prison after admitting in court that possessed up to 600 images of child pornography on his church computer.

Steve Richardson, 36, of Royse City, had earlier plead guilty in March to one count of transporting child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Prior to his arrest last year in September, Richardson had been a pastor for nearly two years at the First United Methodist Church in Royse City.
